There are also sections on payroll, trademark registration, merchant accounts, and pricing structure. It is available on Amazon for $14.95, or as an eBook for $9.95.

Beth Andrus

Beth Andrus always thought she wanted to be an entrepreneur.

She loved to start new businesses; even while running the Production Accounting department at Rhythm & Hues, a huge visual effects studio in the entertainment industry, Beth launched several businesses, including a successful graphic tee shirt line, an organic plant food line and several others. Although the businesses were successful, she never felt the urge to “quit her day job” and jump into full-time entrepreneurship. She came to realize that her passion was for starting, setting up and launching the business – not running the business itself.

With her background, Beth already knew a lot about business, but for a few years there was still a surprising learning curve – the myriad processes, steps, paperwork: all the ins and outs of launching a new business – that took a lot of time and effort to master. Beth had some costly, time-consuming missteps along the way. Even so, friends started coming to her with questions about how they should launch their own businesses – and avoid the mistakes Beth had made. As Beth learned more and more about the right way to get a business working properly, she found that she absolutely loved guiding her friends along the path to business ownership.

As Beth achieved success with each enterprise, the number of requests for advice and instruction increased accordingly. Beth, who was on the 24/7 schedule of many entrepreneurs, didn’t have a lot of time to give all the help she wanted to – she was getting requests every single day. Although she suggested business books, courses and workshops, most friends said they were too confusing, too intimidating or too costly. They wanted Beth – and her clear, concise, common-sense advice, instruction and encouragement. This led Beth to compile and edit all the notes, emails, materials and advice she had given friends over the years and thus, The Essential Business Handbook was born – and met with immediate, huge success.

The Essential Business Handbook has the tips, tools, lists and information any entrepreneur needs to get a head start on starting their business. In only 86 concise pages, Beth takes you through the often-intimidating first steps of getting ID numbers, setting up banking, payroll, insurance, cost accounting and more. Beth holds your hand and makes it simple, straightforward and accessible. And now The Essential Business Handbook is expanding into workshops, webinars and teleseminars in order to bring Beth’s expertise to entrepreneurs across the country and around the world.

Beth is committed to helping people to get their business started, with as little money and as little anxiety as possible. As she likes to say, “No one is born knowing how to run a business – we all need help!”
